Andorra offers several types of residence: Active Residence, for those who develop economic activity in the country; Passive Residence (non-profit), for investors and rentiers who do not work in Andorra; Residence for Professionals with International Projection; and Residence through Family Reunification.
Passive residence in Andorra requires a minimum investment of €600,000. This investment can be made in: real estate, shares in Andorran companies, public debt of the Principality, or non-remunerated deposits at the AFA. Additionally, you must maintain private health insurance and reside a minimum of 90 days per year.
Andorra offers a very attractive tax regime: maximum personal income tax of 10%, corporate tax of 10%, no wealth tax, no inheritance tax between direct family members, IGI (VAT) of 4.5% general, and double taxation agreements with multiple countries.
The residence process varies by type: Active Residence (employee) takes 2-4 weeks. Active Residence (self-employed) requires 2-3 months. Passive Residence takes 3-6 months including investment and verifications.
Catalan is the only official language of Andorra, but it is not essential to speak it to live there. Spanish, French, and English are widely spoken. Free Catalan courses are offered by the Government for integration.
Andorra has a high-quality mixed healthcare system. CASS covers workers and residents, reimbursing approximately 75% of medical expenses. For passive residents, private health insurance is mandatory.
